Pool Opening
So what does it take to open a pool? You have to clean the yard, pull the weeds between the pavers of the pool deck, vacuum up all the old leaves and garbage from fall, clean out the window wells, clean out all the "stuff" from under the tramp, have someone stand close to dad (preferably Davis) so that when he needs something you can get it FAST, clean up all the leaves from the corners of the pool equpment, clean out around the bikes, sort and throw out and clean the outside pool toy box, try not to act surprised when the cover explodes from the filters for the pool dad is cleaning, don't ask any questions, go to school, do your reading, practice the piano, duck when dad tries to put the cover on a second time so the filter cover doesn't hit you, get the cover (also could be described as a flying disc that is extremely large - maybe even a UFO) from the neighbor's yard, don't let dad see you laughing when the cover explodes a third time, cross your fingers and say a prayer that it works the fourth time (since we already bought the new replacement part - twice), take the dog to get shots, go to Marley's to pick up dinner (because mom is too tired to make dinner and didn't go to the store since we were in the yard getting ready to open the pool), make sure everybody is helping and you are not doing more than your sibling, clean up the dog poo, try on all the swimming goggles and make sure there is a pair that fits AND then hope there is still time to swim before going to bed! OK - I know some of these items don't help get the pool opened but we still did them today.

Moma how did I miss this day :( I promise I will help do the pool closing when we put everything away. I love you so much, thank you for your example of selfless service all the time!
ReplyDeleteI like the picture of Jessie she looks super cute and fluffy, like she needs bateries! Better than scruffy I think.
ReplyDeletephew. glad you all finally got to swim.
